Rowan University Entrepreneurship Teams participate in 2021 Global Scaling Challenge

On April 22 and 23, 2021, two undergraduate teams from Rowan University’s Scaling New Ventures course participated in the highly-competitive 2021 Global Scaling Challenge sponsored by the University of New Mexico. Seventeen student teams from around the world, including the USA, India, Austria, and the UK, evaluated three real-world technology firms that are tackling biological-based problems facing our 21st century world, such as Build with Robots, BennuBio, and Wildlife Protection Management.

Each student team developed a series of recommendations for how these companies can scale to the next level of growth. Teams created and presented a 10-minute virtual presentation to a panel of judges, followed by an additional 10 minutes of Q&A. Both Rowan teams performed well and received positive feedback from the judges and event organizers.

Rowan Team 1 included students Damien Filoramo, Nazar Kovch, Michael Lampasona, and Austin Taylor. Rowan Team 2 included students Derek Bogdewicz, Johnathan Conley, Laila El-Shawarbi, Jacob Hunt, and Brady Mariner. The teams were mentored for the competition by Dr. Michael Dominik.
